narrow

WMP
Toba Batak ma-pitutto be narrow
Javanese piṭutalmond-eyed

Since this form has been found nowhere else I treat it as a product of chance convergence pending the discovery of more support. Dempwolff (1938) proposed Uraustronesisch *piTut ‘to narrow, contract’ (verengen).

(Dempwolff: *ibay)

Chance. Although LAKA bolo- and Kwaio ono could reflect POc *ciono-, the Kwaio form appears to reflect *tonom 'to swallow' (cf. onom-anal 'throat, necḱ, onom-ia 'swallow').

(Dempwolff: *baya(q) ‘neglect’)

Hanunóo báyʔaʔabandonment, neglect, act of forsaking (someone)
Aklanon bayáʔto ignore
Cebuano báyaʔleave something exposed
Cebuano pa-báyaʔpay something no mind
Malagasy vazadisdain, contempt

Dempwolff compared the Tagalog form with Malagasy vaza ‘disdain, contempt’ and proposed *baya(q) ‘neglect’, but this is best considered a chance resemblance, and the form reconstructed only for Proto-Philippines.
