Note:   This comparison was first proposed by Dyen (1995:498), who cited Atayal, Seediq waqic ‘tooth, fang’ and reconstructed *wa[qQ2]iC. However, Atayal forms with the shape he cites have not been found in the sources available to me, and both the Atayal of Egerod (1980) and the Puyuma of Cauquelin (2011) point to final *t.
