IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT REGISTRATION FOR ICLDC 9 – please read!
- Due to space constraints at the Imin International Conference Center, we are capping registration at 400 participants.
- Accepted presenters will have first priority, and Presenter Only Registration will open on November 1, 2024. As confirmation of presentation, all presenters must be registered by November 30, 2024.
- On December 1, 2024 (12:00 pm Hawai‘i Standard Time), we will open registration to the general public until full, after which registration will close.
- There will be NO ONSITE REGISTRATION allowed. All participants at the ICLDC must register online before registration closes.
- A waiting list will be available for those who wish to sign up in case other registered participants cancel. There are no guarantees that spaces will become available.
Conference registration
Conference registration covers admission to all ICLDC presentations (plenaries, papers, posters, workshops, and talk story sessions), the conference reception (alcohol not included), coffee/tea service, morning & afternoon refreshments, a conference packet, and a registration badge.
Optional registration items include conference t-shirts and boxed lunches and require additional fees. More details coming soon.
Online registration for accepted presenters opens on November 1, 2024 (12:00 pm, Hawaii standard time). Online registration for the general public opens on December 1, 2024 (12:00 pm, Hawaii standard time).
Conference registration rates
NOTE: All registration rates below are current estimates and are subject to change.
- Registration (university affiliated) – $425
- Registration (non-university affiliated) – $250
- Registration (student) – $100
Special rates available for Hawai‘i residents with a current Hawaii State ID, driver’s license, or UH ID and current Hawai‘i address:
- Hawaiʻi Resident General – $100
- Hawaiʻi Resident Student – $85
Special rate available for legal residents of developing countries listed here.
- Developing country legal resident rate – $50
Individual online payments ($USD) are made via credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, JCB). Payments will appear as “UHM CALL CONF” on your credit card statement.
If you wish to pay for a group or need to pay using an alternate method of payment (check, purchase order, wire transfer), please contact us at icldc@hawaii.edu.
Cancellation policy: To receive a partial or full refund of the conference fee (registration, T-shirt, lunch, etc.), cancellation requests must be submitted via email to icldc@hawaii.edu no later than February 20, 2025. A $15 processing fee will be subtracted from all refunds. There are no refunds for cancellations after February 20, 2025.
NOTE: Registration for the optional Hilo Field Study on the island of Hawai‘i is separate and not tied to ICLDC registration.
ICLDC 9 Permission to Publish Policy
As is tradition at ICLDC, we will be audio recording conference presentations and archiving them in ScholarSpace, so that people who were not able to attend the conference can still benefit from the knowledge and expertise shared. We will also be taking pictures and video during conference social gatherings. Talk Story sessions will not be recorded.
Whether you are an attendee or presenter, we ask that you grant permission for the following:
• Video in which you may appear
• Audio in which you are speaking
• Photo imagery in which you appear
These will be used solely for ICLDC-related publicity and educational purposes only.
By registering for this conference, you grant the Department of Linguistics and the National Foreign Language Resource Center at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa permission to publish conference-related video, audio, and photographic images as they relate to your participation in the 9th International Conference on Language Documentation and Conservation. You understand that they will be used for ICLDC-related publicity and educational purposes only. You also understand that you will receive no remuneration for any above publication.
As part of the registration process, you will need to acknowledge and agree to this policy.
