Past Events Dr. Peter Austin visited UH Manoa in March 2008
Dr. Peter Austin from SOES London spent a week in Honolulu as a guest of the Linguistic Society of Hawai'i.
During the Language Endangerment and Conservation Symposium, Dr. Austin spoke at the Tuesday seminar, gave public lecture for the UH Manoa community,
and conducted a workshop on SOES experiences with Language Documentation. |

Dr. Jeff Siegel visited UH Manoa in March 2006
LSH has been granted $2,073 by the Student Activity Program and Fee Board to bring Dr. Jeff Siegel, a highly-regarded pidgin and creole expert, to UH in February. Mahalo to Mie Hiramoto for organizing the grant application, and to Aya Inoue, Yumiko Enyo, Meylysa Tseng, and Elena Indjieva for petitioning for the grant. Dr. Siegel will be hold a week of
activities, including seminars, brown bag lunches, and workshops. We look forward to his visit as he's a longtime friend of the UH community! |
